José Bordalás has changed his mind and has decided to renew with Getafe. The Alicante coach had been in doubt about his continuity with the club after a historic season in which he had qualified Getafe for the Conference League. However, everything seems to indicate that Bordalás will continue with Getafe. According to Gemma Santos in COPE, Getafe and the Alicante coach are negotiating a renewal and both parties are very optimistic about closing the deal. Bordalás, who has completed another season for the history as he did in 2018/19, has qualified the blue team for the Conference League finishing in 7th place in LALIGA EA Sports. Just a few days ago, the continuity of the Alicante coach in Getafe seemed complicated and it was most likely that he would leave for another team in the Spanish First Division, but the situation has taken a 180-degree turn. According to Álvaro Ramos, journalist of AS, the intention of José Bordalás has always been to renew and what he was looking for was an adequate offer from the blue team. In this way, Sevilla, Osasuna and Espanyol are left without one of their objectives for their respective benches. Sevilla, Osasuna and Espanyol could have been their destinations if they left Getafe. Everything pointed to José Bordalás going to change his bench during this transfer market and the destinations with which he had been most related as a coach had been Sevilla, Osasuna and Espanyol. In the case of the Sanchez Pizjuán team, the permanence achieved by Luis García Plaza was one of the main reasons why the Andalusian team did not go for Bordalás. The Espanyol and the new project with Monchi at the head was one of the clubs that, if they had fired their coach, the clearest objective would have been the name of José Bordalás. However, Manolo Sánchez recovered the positive sensations in the last days and the Catalan team managed to maintain the category. Weeks later, the renewal of the Catalan would be announced officially. Finally, the most realistic destination and that has been fighting until the end for the hiring of Bordalás has been Osasuna. The Navarrese team was fighting not to descend until the last day and that meant that the sports management fired Alessio Lisci, just one season after hiring him. Osasuna offered for the Alicante coach, but according to Álvaro Ramos, journalist of AS, the proposal did not convince Bordalás and that has made him incline to continue in the blue team.
