Getafe has confirmed the worst prognosis for player Christantus Uche in their Madrid squad. The key player for the club azulón is suffering from multiple ligament ruptures in his right knee and will need surgery, which could mean he might miss the entire season.
However, Getafe is not standing still in the transfer market. The club plans to use part of Uche's salary to sign a new player, taking advantage of the regulations for long-term injuries that allow teams to make moves in this scenario.
According to reliable sources, initially, 50% of Uche's salary will be available. Given the severity of the injury, which is expected to last more than five months, Getafe can use up to 80% of the player's salary, amounting to 1.6 million euros.
The process for this operation includes sending a medical report to LaLiga’s Medical Commission. The club has 25 natural days to present this document and, once approved, will have an additional 20 days to register the new signing.
This decision will allow Getafe to maintain its transfer plans while facing Uche's prolonged absence.
