#1-1: Getafe Secures Merited Draw Against Tottenham Despite Uche's Injury Shock
FRIENDLY MATCH
Getafe secured a 1-1 draw against Tottenham in their pre-season friendly match at the London club's Hotspur Way training ground. The goals came in the second half, with Risco giving Getafe an early lead and Gallagher equalizing for Tottenham just five minutes later.
The first half was evenly matched between two teams returning from summer break. Getafe had to deal with the recent injury of Nigerian player Christantus Uche, who suffered a tackle against Monaco that will keep him out for the season.
Goals were scored in the second half: Risco struck first with an early goal in the second half. Five minutes later, Gallagher responded for Tottenham by beating David Soria from underneath and equalizing on the scoreboard. That was the final score.
Until this match, Tottenham had won all of their pre-season friendly matches (against MK Dons, Auckland, Sydney, and Chelsea). Their Premier League debut is scheduled for Saturday, August 22 against Brentford. Meanwhile, Getafe has two wins, two draws, and two losses in their friendly matches. The match against Tottenham was their last summer test before making their official LaLiga debut on August 15 against Alavés at Mendizorroza.
