Sevilla FC has joined the race to sign the Georgian international Giorgi Kochorashvili, according to reports from A Bola. The club is interested in the player and has requested a loan with an option to buy, although Sporting de Portugal's board would only accept this if it becomes mandatory, effectively turning this into a prolonged sale.
Getafe remains the favorite for Kochorashvili's services. The 27-year-old midfielder was signed from Levante last season for around 5.5 million euros and has played five seasons with the Granada B team, including a loan spell at CD Castellón in between. After a strong performance at Ciutat, he moved to Sporting de Portugal last year where he has participated in 18 matches.
Kochorashvili is currently not part of the squad for Friday's match against Nottingham Forest and has permission to negotiate his departure from the club. The Getafe continues to show interest, but the conditions set by Sporting de Portugal complicate a potential transfer. Sevilla FC might have to wait until these issues are resolved before securing Kochorashvili's services.
Another player at Sevilla FC, Chidera Ejuke, is also seeking a solution for his future. Previous reports suggested a link with Celta Vigo, but it seemed that he would sign with José Bordalás' team. However, the arrival of Kochorashvili has made things more complicated.
