Getafe has launched an initiative to bring its supporters closer to the team during their UEFA Conference League campaign by providing free tickets for European away trips. The club already applied it for the 400 fans who traveled to Craiova to witness last Thursday's 1-1 draw and will repeat it for upcoming away games against Ajax and Iberia 1999.
The measure ensures that fans who cover their own travel costs are guaranteed a seat in the away end. "An initiative that, as the club has reported, will be the same for the upcoming matches in Europe against Ajax and Iberia 1999," explained journalist Mario Calderón. The stated goal is to strengthen the bond between the stands and the pitch in a season where Getafe balances improving their 14th place in La Liga, with 8 points, with their continental adventure.
The match in Romania, which yielded a valuable point, saw Nemanja Gudelj as the local hero by scoring the equalizer in the 81st minute, canceling out Al Hamlawi's earlier strike. The Azulones, coming from an irregular run of results in the domestic league, now turn their focus to the Madrid derby. Their next commitment is a high-voltage match against 13th-placed Rayo Vallecano this Monday, October 19th at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.
